How To Turn Fear Into Fuel

We all have moments where fear can stop us right in our tracks.  We start looking at all the things going wrong and become scared of what’s to come.  Sometimes life hands us situations that seem like a challenge and obstacle and that’s when most of us give up on the thing we want.  We allow that fear to consume us and feed into it. We can’t see the gift in the challenge, that opportunity for growth and discovery.

So how do we turn fear into something positive, into something that can benefit us and allow us to receive what we truly want?  We first have become AWARE of what is making us scared. Becoming aware of why we are afraid, can help us get clear on what we do want.  When we know what we DON’T want, that helps us understand what we DO want. Anytime you experience a situation where you can easily list out all the things you don’t like about it, stop for a second and become conscious of the moment you can flip your story.

Writing things down on paper is a powerful process.  It allows you to confront the issues you are dealing with at hand so you can move towards what you want.  Usually when we experience fear, we can’t see beyond it. We get drawn into what we are observing about the reality we are facing that it can be hard to sit down and fine tune your emotions. That’s where the work comes in.  The little steps you take in shifting your perspective and feelings about a negative situation helps you to get closer to what you want. When you continue on a path of feeling scared you will only attract more circumstances to you that will validate that feeling.

After getting clear about what you do want, the next step is trusting that the universe has your back.  This is really hard for some people and it’s something I continue to work on every day. Trust is a big thing.  Relationships define the level of trust we have. When that has been broken it is often difficult to have trust in anything or anyone. Trust is opening your heart, believing in yourself and believing in the abundance of the universe.  Trust is knowing that you are part of the process of creating, and believing in your ability to draw to you what you want.

When you know what you want, believe you will receive it or something better, you will be inspired to take the right action steps.  You won’t be coming from a place of fear anymore, but a place of inspired action. When you come from that place of inspired action it will feel right.  You will feel good about it. You know what it’s like to feel fear. When you take those inspired action steps, it will not feel bad. You may not know how everything will fall into place but trust that everything will work out for you.  

Whenever you feel fear creeping up on you, take a moment to become aware of the feeling, acknowledge it and turn that fear into fuel.  Fuel to drive you to what you do want. You always have a choice in every single moment. You can feed into the feelings that stop you in your tracks, or you can choose to use that as an opportunity to get clear on what you do want, and go after it.

The choice is always going to be yours.  What are you choosing?
